Orthopedics and Traumatology is the department that examines congenital and acquired diseases in the musculoskeletal system, diagnoses using the wide range of technology, plans and applies the most appropriate medical and surgical treatment to the patients at the scientific level.

For what purpose to go to the orthopedics department?
It is best to go to the orthopedic surgeon if any of the symptoms or complaints listed below appear;
  • Muscle pains
  • Joint pains
  • Inadequacies in mobility
  • Pains occuring with movement
  • Swelling of joints
  • Difficulties in movement


Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries (Knee-shoulder)
Includes meniscectomy or repair of meniscus within the scope of arthroscopic knee surgery; reconstruction surgeries for arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, internal-external lateral ligament and combined ligament injuries; arthroscopic microfracture or osteochondral cartilage transplantation for cartilage injuries; arthroscopic bankart repair and labral rupture excision-repair for shoulder dislocation, subacromial impingement syndrome and shoulder joint osteoarthritis; cartilage surgeries and rotator cuff repair.

Spinal Surgery
Some of the areas of interest in spinal surgery include congenital or acquired scoliosis of the spine, kyphosis (humpback), Scheuermann kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, spinal aging problems, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, spine injuries and spine infections.

Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology
The management of congenital hip dislocation, crooked foot, cerebral paralysis, myelomeningocele, congenital deformities, flat foot, tumors, developmental disorders and fractures of children under the age of 16 years are studied.

Foot and Ankle Surgery

Includes the treatment of degenerative diseases of foot and ankle, sports injuries, fractures, ligament ruptures, cartilage injuries.

Orthopedic Oncology
Medical and surgical treatment of all types of tumors of the extremities, especially all bones, muscles and soft tissues.

Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
Arthroscopic and open surgical treatment of arthrosis of shoulder and elbow, rotator sheath diseases recurrent dislocations and diseases due to overuse or trauma, is provided.

Arthrosis - osteoarthritis
Treatment of gonarthrosis and coxarthrosis, hip-knee prosthesis, revision surgery in case of loosening, periacetabular and high tibial reconstructive bone operations are the areas of interest of this department.


Extremity Surgery
It includes bone deformities, fracture nonunion, bone infections and external fixator applications, especially for arm-leg bone extension operations.

Hip Fractures
It is especially the cases requiring treatment after the traumas to which the elderly patient group will be exposed.


Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery
Planning and application of the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hand, wrist, elbow and arm problems.

Clinical activities of the Upper Extremity Surgery Service include acute soft tissue trauma of the upper extremity (tendonies, peripheral nerve cuts, skin and muscle loss due to crushing and compression), amputations (replantations using microsurgical methods, revascularization, etc.), hand, wrist, forearm assessment, coordination, diagnosis and treatment of fractures in the hand, elbow and arm.

Upper Extremity Surgery
Wrist-elbow arthroscopy, small joint prosthesis applications, tendon transfers, microsurgical tissue transfers are managed in this department for the resolution of congenital neuromuscular diseases and tumoral conditions after trauma and calcification for the late reconstruction of hand surgery.
